I'm Tyler Jones, a furniture maker in Baltimore. I build dining tables, live edge pieces, benches, and one-of-a-kind commissions from reclaimed and hand-milled wood, one at a time. Based here, I ship across the country.

The wood
Most of my lumber never sees a lumberyard shelf. It comes out of Baltimore and the mid-Atlantic: reclaimed barn wood, storm-fallen trees, and slabs I mill myself. I've been working wood for close to twenty years, and I specialize in reclaimed materials and live edge lumber. Every piece I build comes with the story of where the wood came from, and I'll tell you that story before I make the first cut.

Design and quote
We pick the wood together, I sketch it, and you get a real quote and a real timeline for your piece, not a generic one. A deposit reserves your spot and covers materials.
Build
I send photos as it comes together, so you watch it happen.
Deliver
Local pieces I deliver and install myself. Anywhere else, I crate and ship it to you.
About Tyler
Hi, I'm Tyler. As a kid I wanted to be an architect, Frank Lloyd Wright was the obsession, and I've been sketching things I wanted to build ever since. The making started in my early twenties in Texas: I learned commercial framing on a construction crew, then taught it to my father so we could do his building projects together. I built every piece of furniture in my first apartment myself, and that was it, I was hooked. I cooked professionally for years while the woodworking grew from a hobby into a trade, and in 2026 I went full-time in the shop. Happier than I've been in a long time. These days I specialize in reclaimed materials and live edge lumber I mill myself, and I love a design I haven't tried before. I work alone, so the person you talk to is the person at the bench.

I bought a 1907 home in Roland Park. It had a pocket door in the wall that had fallen off its track, which had gone unused for decades. Tyler uninstalled the door and then he carried it (the very heavy panel door) to our basement where we stripped and refinished it. Tyler then returned and reinstalled the door. We love it! He really cares about his work. He's responsive to texts and his rates are very reasonable.

- How does pricing work?
- Every piece is quoted to its size, the wood, and the complexity, so I don't post prices that wouldn't mean anything. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll give you a real number.
- How long does a commission take?
- The honest answer: the wood decides. A build from a slab I've already got dried is one timeline. Felling a specific tree, drying it, then milling it is another entirely, green wood can take months before it's ready to work. The same goes for an heirloom casket made from a tree that means something to you. Once I know your piece and your wood, you get a real date, not a guess.
- Can you build from my own wood, or a tree from my property?
- Yes, and those are some of my favorite builds. If the wood is sound, it can become a table, a bench, or an heirloom to keep.
- Do you deliver?
- Locally I deliver and install myself. Anywhere in the country, I crate and ship, with shipping handled by you. Distance is not the limit.
