Privacy Policy

I'm Tyler Jones, and I run Oakleaf Custom Woodworking in Baltimore, Maryland. This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. I've written it in plain English because I'd rather you actually read it.
Short version: I collect what I need to answer your enquiry and to see whether this website is working. I don't sell anything about you to anyone.
What I collect
When you fill in the contact form. Your name, your email address, whatever you tell me about your project, and your timeline. That goes straight to my inbox. I use it to reply to you and to work out your commission. Nothing else.
When you visit the site. Two measurement tools run here.
Google Analytics, which tells me things like how many people visited, which pages they read, roughly what part of the world they came from, and whether they arrived from Google or somewhere else. It sets cookies in your browser to do this.
Ahrefs Web Analytics, which measures the same kind of thing without setting cookies and without following you around the internet.
Neither one tells me who you are. I see patterns, not people.
What I do not do
I don't sell your information. I don't rent it, trade it, or hand it to marketers. I don't send newsletters or marketing emails, so filling in the form does not sign you up for anything. If you write to me about a table and never write again, that's the end of it.
Who else touches it
A few services handle information on my behalf, because that's how a website works:
- Cloudflare hosts this site and delivers the pages to you.
- Resend delivers contact form submissions to my email.
- Google provides the analytics described above.
- Ahrefs provides the cookieless analytics described above.
Each of them has its own privacy policy. I've picked ones I'm comfortable with, and I don't give any of them information beyond what they need to do their job.
How long I keep it
Contact enquiries stay in my email. If we work together, I keep our correspondence as a record of the commission, the same way I'd keep a paper file. If we don't, it sits in my inbox until I clear it out. Analytics data is held by Google and Ahrefs under their own retention schedules.
What you can ask me to do
Write to me at tyler@oakleafcustomwoodworking.com and I'll do any of the following:
- Tell you what I hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete what I have, unless I need to keep it for a job in progress or for my business records.
No forms, no process. Just ask and I'll sort it.
Cookies
The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics ones described above. If you'd rather not be counted, every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, and Google publishes an opt-out tool for its analytics. The site works fine either way; nothing here needs a cookie to function.
Children
This site is for adults commissioning furniture. It isn't aimed at children and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If I change how any of this works, I'll update this page and change the date at the top.
